Tooth Full Coverage (Crowns)

Not all teeth can be restored with the traditional white fillings after caries (decay) removal.  Removing extensive decay can leave the tooth with not enough structure to support a regular filling.  There are also teeth with severe genetic/ developmental  decfets  that increase the risk of developing caries. A full tooth coverage restoration is often recommended.  Staineless Steel Crowns are commonly used for full tooth coverage restoration.  They are also recommended after the tooth had nerve treatment.  A stainless steel crown is cemented after caries removal or nerve treatment and remains there until the tooth exfoliates.
